To someone who's spent his life sorounded in the northeast, these mountains looked more like piles of rubble than a natural landscape. So, when I saw these peaks I couldn't help but be reminded of Edward Burtynsky's "Manufactured Landscapes" series. I saw a collection of his huge 40x50 inch images at the Brooklyn Museum over Thanksgiving and somehow I felt as if I was imitating Burtynsky imitating landscape photographers.
